EYEBRIGHT LEAF

Eyebright Leaf (euphrasia officinalis) or eyebright is an herb the name of which comes from the Greek word euphrosyne which means “gladness.” Euphrasia has been used for centuries for various eye problems. It is also used topically, mixed with other herbs to treat conjunctivitis and other inflammations or as an eyewash. It strengthens all parts of the eye and provides an elasticity for nerves and optic tissues responsible for sight.  It promotes clear vision and its antiseptic properties fight eye infections.  It helps prevent conjunctivitis, cataract formation, glaucoma, and weak eyesight.  It prevents secretion of fluids and relieves discomfort from eyestrain.  It is good for allergies, itchy and/or watery eyes, and runny nose.  Eyebright Leaf combats hay fever and stimulates the liver to cleanse the blood.
