BROMELAIN

Bromelain is a digestive enzyme derived from pineapple that works on breaking down protein and may help increase the effectiveness of antibiotics.  It may be helpful for people with food allergies, especially wheat and other grains.  It has been used as a treatment for severe bruising and hematomas.  It enhances the absorption of nutrients from food and supplements.  It may reduce the pain and swelling due to arthritis or injury.  It has a protective effect on the stomach lining.  It prevents high levels of fibrinogen, which can cause blood clots.  Bromelain has been used to reduce inflammation, treat hemorrhoids and other diseases of the veins, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, and menstrual pain.
